Understanding Standalone Desktops

First, what exactly is a Standalone Desktop in DaDesktop?

We have a detailed breakdown of the various Desktop types available. In short, a 'Standalone' desktop is a machine that isn't tied to a live course. It exists independently, ready for use before or after a course, or completely on its own, unrelated to any course. This gives it exceptional flexibility.

Common reasons to set up Standalone desktops:
  1. Getting your training materials ready for repeated use, independent of any course, and keeping them accessible whenever you need them.
  2. When you want a flexible machine, perhaps running a different operating system (Linux, Windows), to safely test out concepts.

Key Features:
  1. Sharing links grant unrestricted access to anyone who has the link.
  2. If left idle, the desktop will automatically power down after 24 hours.
Pricing:
  1. Creating a desktop comes at no cost.
  2. Launching a desktop, however, incurs a charge.
  3. The price varies by the number of units, determined by CPU, memory, and disk space. There is an additional fee for Windows.
  4. If you enroll in a course as a student or trainer, you'll receive complimentary credits that can be applied to standalones.
  5. If there's no connection to your standalone for more than a month, it will be deleted.

Usage Tip:

Use "clonefrom#" followed by a keyword to find desktops that were originally cloned from the same source.
