Building a Desktop from an OS Template
To get started with creating a desktop from an OS template:
- Go to the course and open the Desktops menu.
- Click "Create From OS Template"
Now, let's look at the available settings when building a desktop from an OS template.

Here's what each field means:
-
GPU Model
Select a GPU model and type, if needed. Check the 'Display GPU enabled servers' checkbox to see only servers with available GPUs. -
Datacentre / Server
Pick the datacentre region and the server nearest to you in Italy. -
OS to clone from
You'll find operating system templates such as Windows, along with Linux distributions like Ubuntu, Debian, and Almalinux, among others. -
Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
We update templates frequently, but if you run into issues with the latest one, you can opt to use an older version instead. -
CPU
Select the number of CPU cores you need. Note that the default is 8 cores, which works well for typical Linux and Windows usage. -
Memory
Specify the memory limit in GB for your desktop. Keep in mind that this is bound by the server's resources, and limits may vary per server. If you require more memory, reach out to us via Support Chat. -
Disk Space
Set the disk space allocation. The default is 50 GB.
