Continue Using Your Desktop Once the Course Ends

One handy aspect of DaDesktop is that participants can seamlessly keep practising on their course machine even after the training wraps up. Before the course ends, an email goes out asking them if they'd like to continue using that desktop environment.

 

Normally, each participant's course desktop gets removed shortly after the course concludes. If you'd like to hold on to it and continue working through your lab exercises, you can clone your course desktop into a 'Standalone Desktop'—a version that stays available for you later. To do this, go to your Course, find your desktop machine, and click the 'Use desktop after course' option beside it.

 

From there, DaDesktop walks you through the straightforward steps and lets you 'Enable' the cloning operation.

After you've enabled it, a confirmation indicator will appear next to your course machine.

Once the course is over, you can reach your Standalone machine by clicking the Standalones menu at the top of your screen.

Do note that any machine left inactive for a month will be removed, but we'll send a warning email well beforehand—giving you plenty of time to take action if you want to keep using it.
