SSH Access

SSH AccessMany users ask for SSH access to their DaDesktop machines to simplify the experience, allowing both instructors and learners to connect from their personal devices. It's natural to prefer typing commands locally rather than within a remote desktop terminal.

While doable from a technical standpoint, we don't allow SSH access here because it would unnecessarily expose the course machines to serious security risks.

We've introduced a drag and drop file file transfer capability, so you can now effortlessly move files from your personal device straight into the DaDesktop environment. Previously, many requests for SSH access were driven by the lack of a file transfer method; now that this feature is available, the DaDesktop experience is much smoother.

Additionally, full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now integrated into Windows and Linux templates, making it far simpler to copy and paste commands from your own machine into DaDesktop—even on a Mac or when working with non-English characters.

On DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access can be granted when necessary.
